Getting car ready for spring, got some problems though
Getting car ready for spring, got some problems though
Instrument panel lights dont turn on and my radiator fans dont turn on. Ive done the obvious stuff like check fuses, and they are all good. I cant seem to find the problem here.
Any ideas? Car is in sig.

Did you check the 5 Amp dimmer fuse, #13? What are some of the conditions leading upto the occurence of the problem. Was any work done? Hit a bump and lights went out? etc....
Re: Getting car ready for spring, got some problems though
Lets see, last spring I did quite a bit of work to it. I had to put in a new dimmer switch. When I did that the VATS ( I think thats what its called) quit working, so I bypassed it with resistors. I replaced the optispark, wires, and coil. The lights were working fine, and I went on a week long trip. I had my dad drop off the car cuz I was in a van with other people. When I went to turn on the lights, everything else worked except the interior lights. My dad said he didnt drive it except to bring it home and drop it off to me. This was probably 2 weeks or so after replacing the optispark. I noticed the fans were not working after I was having trouble with the car overheating. The radiator ended up having a crack in it. Than after I replaced the radiator, I was still having problems with it and that ended up being the catalytic converter being plugged. I suspect the fans have not been working for awhile. Whenever I was driving in the town the car would heat up considerably. I have a hypertech 160 stat in it. It usually stayed around 180 when Im on the open road but when I get in town it usually around 210 and if I have to stop for a period of time it heats up. Im pretty sure I checked all the fuses for the fans and the interior lights.
