Re: Getting A 94 Z28
This is the wrong forum. The 94 is an LT1.
Anyway, there are alot of things to look for. Waterpump, Optispark (distributor), electrical gremlins, window motors, tranmission mount, rear main seal leak, ignition coil, idle surge, low rpm miss, high rpm miss, and all of the other things associated with used 12 year old cars.

I wouldn't focus on any one issue or part of the car. Like all vehicles, it has a few weak spots, but those will become evident if something's wrong. Just do a thorough test drive simulating all driving conditions you'll encounter- highway driving, sitting in traffic, abusing a ricer, etc... After the test drive do a thorough walkaround and check the paint, interior, trunk, and under the hood. Check under the car for leaks. Check all the fluids- it can be a good check of whether the vehicle was properly maintained or not- no oil on the dipstick means probably not. Also, it's very important to check all the electronics for proper operation. The cigarette burn in the seat might seem like the bigger issue now, but the first time it rains and the windshield wipers don't work will be a real bummer. Make sure and write down everything that's wrong, and if you're still interested, try and work down the price- although at 3500 there's not much to work down, unless it's something major. If you fail to investigate the strange knocking noise coming from the engine, that 3500 could quickly turn into 5000+, so if you're in doubt, play it safe and get a mechanic's opinion or just pass on the car. There's plenty of LT1s to go around.
