i decided to try shiftin around 2000 - 2500 and i ended up gettin 17.4/gallon... so i am guessin i have problems other places... i drove 216 miles and then filled up 12.4 gallons....60 of the miles were highway driven...

I was getting about the same with my car when I had a CAI and catback exhaust. I changed the wires, plugs, and coil to a MSD Blaster coil and my mpg improved a ton!

Well the wires were Taylor 8mm, and then I had to buy the opti boots for them, plus I bought Made for You wire looms so I could install them over the valve covers. The wires, looms, and boots ran around $100 from Summit if I remember correct. The MSD coil was around $35-40 from checker auto. And the plugs are just cheap Autolights. I do have a spare MSD coil that has about 1 hour of use that I will sell for $35 shipped. Email me if your interested. wisneski7@yahoo.com

so it ran cheapest to most expensive.....plus--> wires --> coil

did you install all of them at the same time or over a period of time...if you installed them all at different times do you have any idea which one gave the best mpg gain?

and i may be interested in the coil...let me read up on it...

Is the installation hard on any of these? I'm 17 with just about no experience engine wise...i just know the cars and engines that run in them (i-4, i-5, v6, v8)and hp ratings and stuff like that...

thanks

I did the wires, coil, and plugs all at the same time. So I cant really say which gave the best gain, I would assume though that it was a combination of the coil and wires mostly. The coil is very easy to install. The wires can be a pain and are much easier to install over the valve covers. The hardest part about this is cutting them to the correct length and crimping on the boots for the opti. After you do a couple though its not to bad.
