General Throttle Body Cleaning..
General Throttle Body Cleaning..
I bought a 94 camaro a few months ago, i replaced the engine with a 97 engine.
i know alot of you take good care of your cars mechanically, i can tell you if you havent cleaned your throttle body in a while it probably needs it.. I bet mine had 2mm build up of crap on the inside of it, must have had a bad pcv or something..
well not anymore, wish i would have took some before pics..
heres the after pics, knocked the outside off with a wire wheel and some sand paper, did a little sanding on the inside to smooth it up a little, nothing major just smoothed the sharp edges and shined up the ramps to the bores.. looks much better.. dont make fun of my pretty yellow vacuum caps, i live out in the county thats all i had..

my TB was also caked in oil and carbon build up it look like, just like how my intake manifold is too.
Im thinking bad pvc and probably bad piston rings from what i heard those two cause blow-by?
Tore it about, ran it in a solvent tank to break up the easy stuff and hit the inside bores with some 220 grit sand paper and finished off with 1000 grit. Looks sooo much better.
