Gen1 & LT1 - What Parts Swap?

I'm in the process of rebuilding my LT1 in my 95Z and I'm going to be switching over to an electric water pump and am curious what timing sets I can use now since I won't have the water pump drive. Can I still use the stock timing cover or do I have to change that too. I heard that the bottom ends of the LT1s and the gen1s are that same as long as I get a crank thats a 1 peice rear seal.

Any other tips and tricks that you have let me know, I'm going to have my block machined and my rotating assembly balanced in the next couple weeks, hopefully LOL.

pretty much the only thing interchangable is what you said, the internals if the crankshaft has a 1 peal rear main seal.
