Gears as my next mod...?

I have 3.23 gears on my Z28... what do you think about 3.73s? Headers are a bit too much money for me right now... so I was thinking about gears... Current mods in the sig...

Or should I keep saving up for headers.... mmmmm?

3.73s go great with stalls/automatics.

Gears are good, I just hate to put an even smaller pinion in the damned 10 bolt. Save for exhaust, it will wake your car up nicely.

Gears are def a good mod if you don't mind the decreased gas mileage...

When I went from my 3.23's to 3.73's its a night and day difference. I would say its the best mod that I've done to my car so far.

I dont think gears are any cheaper than headers. If you do the math its not much difference. I would recommend a very reputable shop install the gears due to the delicate calibrating and measurements involved. Also I would recommend the rear TA girdle for reinforcement. So the gears are $200 + the girde is $150 + a shop to install is like 5 hours at $40/hour is $200. Thats $550. How much are Jethot longtubes? Right around that price and if you take your time with one of these great write-ups on here you can install them yourself.

I second that! i went from stock(3:43's?) to 3:73 in my 96Z28 (T56) and it's like WOA!

P.S.
I bought an 02 REAR-END for $425 on this board! Morser hardend axles and a zexel differential. Look for the deals and do the work yourself...save BIG$
