which gears do i have on my car????

Ok ive heasrd all thes epople saying this and that about their gears, which gears do i have??? the 2.73??

i can tell you in 2nd gear if i push it to like 5800RPM i can get up to 95 or so (give or take 5km/h) so in MPH that is aprox 60MPH give or take 3MPH in 2nd gear.

What gears do i got?

I'm pretty sure that would be 3.23's. If it were 2.73's you'd be more around the mid 70's. Some one can correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's right.

More than likely 3.23 gears. The best way is to check the code in your glovebox. If it says GU2, you have 2.73, and if it's GU5, you have 3.23. You can also jack up the rear end, and mark the driveshaft. Have a friend spin the tire exactly one complete turn. Watch the driveshaft. If it turns almost 3 1/4 times, you have 3.23 gears. If it turns almost 3 times, or about 2 3/4, you have 2.73.

Check the RPO on the build list. The easiest way.

Yeah, or you could do that. If you have the M28 gearbox then you have 2.73's. If it's M29, you have 3.23's.

In the glovebox, there's the build sheet. Look and you will see it. If it says GU2 anywhere, that's 2.73 gears. If it says GU5, it's 3.23.

it is def. better than the 2.73's.....I had 3.23's in my car and i eventually put in 3.73's...if you are thinking about modifying your car at all, i would go ahead when you get a chance and put the 3.73's in. If you are happy w/ the power that you have and all...leave it alone.

If it says GU5, it's more than likely 3.23 gears. But unless you've had the car since new, the only way to tell is by turning the driveshaft or cracking the case and look at the gear stamping. Somebody may have changed it over the years. If it's still the 3.23, you won't see a lot of difference with, say 3.73 gears since they are so close of a ratio. You will see some gain though. If you like it the way it is, keep the 3.23.
