gears

OK i am looking at getting 3:73 for my 95 Z28. I was wondering if the hypertech computer system has an options for recalibrating the speedometer, also how bad will it mess with my gas milage. It has stock the 2:73's that is why i want to up grade. And if i dont recalibrate the the speedo how far off will it be i dont want it to rack up miles real fast cause i have a 3 year 36k warrenty on it and it has 30k left of the warrenty. Thanks for the info. Sean

Save your money on the Hypertech piece. It is very limited, but it will allow changes for the gears. I would go with Bryan at pcmforless.com He can change that along with many other things.

As for the gears you will have to get a set for a 2 series carrier. There are several different manufacturers out there. Most of the aftermarket gears (richmond, strange moser) will all have more noise (gear whine). It all just depends on how much noise you can stand. I believe you can get the GM Motive gear set for a 2 series carrier, but am unsure. Check thunder racing. Good luck.

been there done that! I bought the HPP3 and it was a waste of money , www.pcmforless.com upgrade it's better and less than 1/2 of the price!!! that what I did after wasting alot of $$ on the hpp, btw your spedometer will be low by approx 18-19mph at 60mph. I got the richmond 3.73's for a 2 series carrier and I'm very happy with the gain even if it is a little bit noiser.

Good luck!

Thanks for the info... How much of an improvement did it make in the quarter mile?
