I have a 94 z28 with stock 2.73 in it I don't have much money right now so would it be alright to put a stock 3.42 in my car will it match up or is it a different carrier?

 

You would need to get a Series 3 Carrier. You can get a take out 3 Series carrier from SLP for around $99.99. Or you can go with Motive(I think they make them) gears they make a 3.42 for a 2 series carrier they are made thicker so they will fit. But a stock set of 3.42 gears will not fit on your 2.73 carrier. I know because I plan on doing this very shortly,already have all the parts just need installed.Hope this helps.
