Gear swap=computer issues?

I'm having my rear end fixed this week, I'm tired of the one wheel burn outs. But since its going to be apart, I was thinking of having some 4.10's put in as well. Will anything be screwed up other than the speedometer? I can live with not knowing exactly how fast I'm going, but I was worried about possible computer issues. Thanks in advance. Oh, and does anyone have definate answers as to 1/4 mile time improvements with the gears?

I read on here that the computer reads the wheel speed and sends those calculations to the pcm to adjust fuel and so forth. I have no idea if its true or not. I ran my car for a little bit this way and didn't notice anything bad, although the speedo will tack a little more miles since its not reading it right, so I would get it programmed with pcmforless or somewhere else. You should expect 2-3 tenths some people see 4 tenths, mostly depends on traction

If you have a A4, your shift points will be affected without a reprogram.
