Gear selector

Hey yall,

Ive got a 96 Z28 Auto. Why is it that some camaros have a selectable first gear and mine does not. Is there anything i can do to change mine?

Also (stupid question):
If have 8 new plugs and 4 new plug wires, would adding an MSD Blaster coil pack cause a rough idle?

you dont have 1st gear selectable because you have 2.73 gears where as the ones WITH 1st gear selecable have 3.23's

diffrent gear ratios, without a 1 on your shifter you have what i forget 2.73's or whatever instead of 3.23's why would you replace only 4 wires?

You can remove the shifter ****, then inside the console their will be two screws (mine are below the change holder but it's a bird), and removing them will allow you to remove the piece of plastic around the shifter. Then you can manually downshift the car (while not running) into 2nd and you'll be able to see the little black piece of plastic that stops it from moving into 1st. Just use a knife and cut it out of the way. Then you'll have 1st gear select.
