Gear drive on LT1?

I was wondering why a timing gear drive can't be used on an LT1?

Or can it? It seems like someone has done it before.

Thanks

I think it's because of the water pump and/or Opti. I wouldn't want one on there anyway, I imagine it would create quite a bit of false knock.

Cool

It can be done pretty easily, but there aren't any real gains plus the fact the gear whine makes alot of false knock.

Search, it was discussed not long ago and comes up every now and again.

Its not needed in the car, and causes hassle - so ultimately, no reason to run it unless your looking at 10k RPM and expecting to run so close to the edge that you'd blow the engine if you had your timing off a degree.
