well on my t/a i didnt remove the needles i just very carfully slid it over them.....but i just did a focus and had to remove the needles ...best advice here if you remove them is
1. put full tank of gas in before to be able to set the gas guage back
2. remember where it charges at
3. make sure the engine is cold when setting the temp guage
4. remeber where it idles at
5. have someone pace you to set the speedo back while your driving have someone reset the needle make sure the car you are pacing off of has a good calibration on their speedo
all these things have to be done while the car is running
what you have to do is put the needles back at these setting while the engine is in operation and for the speedo while you are driving all you need to do is have someone hold 15 mph in front of you. for the temp make sure to set that one with the engine cold and do it right at startup fuel like i sadi make sure to have a topped off tank and set it back to full
