Gasket matching intake, is it needed

I have a stock intake and a gasket matched/ ported intake. Do you think there is more of a benefit running the match/ported intake. I heard that our intakes flow well already. What do you think. Will there be a noticeable difference. Thanks........John

Re: Gasket matching intake, is it needed

The only way I would recommend playing with the intake is if it is done WITH the heads. If you make the ports on the intake larger or placed differently than in the head the transition to the smaller or stepped in head port would flow a lot worse than the unported intake.

Thanks for the reply. I have ported AFR's so that wouldn't be a problem. I was just wondering if there is any benefit.......John
