Gas smell in intake? Why?

So i have this gas odor in my intake. I was checking for vacuum leaks (my car runs a little rich, evenly on both banks) and I pulled of my intake elbow to see if was cracked. Opened the TB blades and instant gas smell. Could this be from the evap stuff? I would check the injectors but it starts right up with no lag.

I also checked the vacuum at the FPR and it was holding 20 In/hg and didnt really bleed off, so does that mean my FPR is still good?

to me it sounds like you are trying to trace something that isn't really a problem, i mean your car runs good with no lag, at least thats what u said.

Without knowing how strong the smell actually is i am going to say this... Your injectors pulse, fuel goes in to the ports of the intake. Everyone i know that has an f-body says that they run rich, which leaves me to believe that all of them do run a little rich. My car runs really rich, so much that when i start it up... black smoke comes out.

Again, it sounds like you are trying to trace something that isn't there.

good luck

Well, my oil smells like gas...

But it always has, even at 30k miles when I got it. Since then i have replaced the opti, plugs, wires, egr, intake gaskets, checked vacuum lines, etc. It is still there.

I know it runs rich becasue on my scanner my BLM's are at 116ish on both sides. The integrators are at 128-135ish though? I am getting pissed.

I took a freeway trip and got about 26-30ish MPG hwy, That tank was an average of 24 MPG, so maybe i am just ****...

26-30 mpg on the freeway is prertty darn good for an auto, IMO. Send a data log to a tuner and get a tune, if you want changes.
