gas mileage tips
looking for more tips for better fuel economy in my A4.
the plugs and wires were changed last year. this year it got a fuel filter, injector cleaner, throttle body was cleaned, fresh k&n, cleaned and descreened maf, resonator delete, and an exhaust cutout. next ill probably delete the egr system. what else can be done. my best mpg was 19.7 but its usually a little lower than that with mixed driving.

Re: gas mileage tips
19.5 is pretty good. autos don't get the mpg that m6's do, but you can do well. i had a 2.73 auto make 27.something on the highway. about 18 city with average driving. it's so hard to get good gas mileage in the m6 for me just because to drive lightly and keep the rpm low, i have to shift 4 times to get to 35mph. being a little spirited, i usually go through first, second and then i'm already going 40 so then i can just hit 5th and peter along.
Re: gas mileage tips
just let the car shift....keeping you rpms steady while cruising and keeping ur foot out of the gas hard helps a lot...It sucks driving our cars this way...but you gotta do what you gotta do. I get about 27-29 MPG highway in my car...and right around 18-20 in the city...depending on different things...Its not rare for me to put 300 miles on a tank of gas...ive been as high as 320 and still had a LITTLE bit to spare in the tank...just gotta let the car shift
