gapping spark plugs

I just wanted to know if it would make a difference if u gapped the plugs cause when I did my ngk tr55 I did not do that. So will it affect anything or does it come pre gapped already. Thanks

You should ALWAYS check the gap on a spark plug before you install it. There is no guarantee that the plug was set correctly before it was put in the box, nor that it sustained no impacts and damage in transit.,

Amen. You never install a plug without checking the gap.

this is a stupid question but what is the correct way to gap a plug? I have always held the guage in there then tapped it till it was right. Others I have seen tap the plug then run the gapper through it? Does it matter?

I wouldn't tap it at all. A good plug feeler gage will have a pair of small prongs that allow you to bend the ground strap closer or farther away.
