I wouldn't even bother with a LT1 specific cold air, Pound per Pound you are better off converting to an LS1 set-up than the traditional 90' LT1 intake. A couple of folks have completed this mod, run a quick search.

The larger filter is what you are after. That G2 setup utilizes the stock filter size so IMO there are better CAIs out there. And it doesnt even relocate the filter further away from the motor like the FIPK or moroso do.

It doesn't use a cone filter.

G2 Cold air kit any good

I have the G2 with the K&N filter on the end,was a perfect fit.Not sure of the hosepower gain vs the fipk but solved the problem and the fipk filter falling off, pain in the rear.
Car still appear to run just as strong with the G2 as it did with the fipk. The stock filter box was the restriction with the G2 as far as I could tell.
When I had the stock box on,which was cut open the engine appeared to be under a strain but when I put the K&N filter on,it seem to run and pull like it use to when I had the fipk cold air kit on.

I wonder how much of a difference in hp between the G2 with the K&N filter and the fipk cold air kit with the same filter?

I wanted to change over to the ls1 style cai but could not find a good write up on what all needed to be changed.
