Funny Rev When you stomp on it

I have a manual, if i stomp on the gas the tach jumps a little bit before the car starts to take off. I have seen this in autoomatic cars. Is this normal for a manual. Thanks for the replies

Thats kinda wierd, usually I'd say clutch is slipping, is the rpm's coming back down or do htey continue to float upward?

they stay up for about 2 seconds than the when the car speeds up it stays there. Its only under WOT all other times there is no problem . If i stomp on it, the rpms go up quick, then unless i leave it at WOT they come down right away. I think the car had a new clutch about 20,000 miles ago, its done this since i got it 2 years ago.

Still sounds like a pressure plate or clutch problem...

Should have knocked on wood. It was both the clutch disk and the pressure plate failing. New clutch is in now so its all good.
