Funky Noise Inside!!!!1!!

I was returning from my lunch break several moments ago and when i went out to my car i heard this sound comming from under the hood, and the car wouldnt start. I poped the hood and took a peek underneath. The noise was comming from the left underside (almost near the exhaust manifold) i looked around to see if i could identify what was making the noise but to no avail. Several moments passed and the noise became erratic, and made a god awful noise (almost souded like teeth grinding off of something) afterwards... silence. I waited for a while and decided that i should try again. The car started up smoothly, no ses light or anything. i carefuly drove it back to work. Any one know if this is serious or not? what does it sound like to you?

Thank You
Rob

I had something that sounds similar to this happen to my old bonneville. The AC clutch bearings took a dive and i drove it for a while....heated the berings ad belt up good, till they finally froze. Then the noise was gone! only problem was the belt was spinning on a pulley that wasnt moving! Tore the belt in half about a week later. soooo...Take a look at the AC condenser and the rest of the pulleys on the serpentine belt line. See what you can find!
