160 degree thermostat controversy?
I have heard many different opinions about getting a 160 degree thermostat. Some say it does no good unless you have the manual fan switch also. Some say it is good without the switch. I live in Houston and pretty soon the temperature will be in the 90's and 100's.
Is it a good idea for me to get the 160 degree thermostat or not?
Also, why?

the 160* thermostat along with modified fan settings has worked great for me. my car sees temps from 170-180 in the heat down here. i would recommend either the switch or having the PCM modified to turn the fans on earlier. i think my fan settings are 165/175...

or get your pcm tuned while u are at it and they can set the fans to turn on: www.madz28.com or www.pcmforless.com
It would be rare that a dealer would do anything to alter the stock programming.
If you want to read some of my ramblings about the cooling system, you can do so here. Some thoughts about the 160º thermostat are at the end of that writing.
