Functionality Of VFN Hood?
Functionality Of VFN Hood?
I recently installed a 3" bolt on SS hood from VFN to replace the factory ram air hood on my 96 SS. I was wondering if anyone had any idea on how to make the hood functional by connecting it to the ram air box?
Thanks.
Thanks.
Re: Functionality Of VFN Hood?
If it is a functional hood it should match a ram air box, as far as modding a non functional one to work, i would probably not go through the effort, good CAI's are almost equal
Re: Functionality Of VFN Hood?
No, it has the opening for the air to come in but it is not directly sealed to the intake like the factory one was. Its hard to explain I guess but Ive heard of people doing it before with the VFN ram air hood. Im wondering how.
Re: Functionality Of VFN Hood?
#1 You could call VFN. #2 I highly doubt you'll be making it functional seeing as how there would be alot of work envolved to ensure a SS style intake would pull outside air into the air inlet. #3 The SS intake is about the worst intake you could have on there.
Remedy, buy a regular cold air kit and sell me the hood.
Where in PA are you? Just curious..
