fully modded, minus intake, how much hp loss?

Mods are in my sig. What I have on there for an intake right now is just a K&N filter connected to some 4 inch ABS piping. After that however I still have the crappy plastic elbow that curves around the radiator and connects to the MAF. Its seems like I am loosing alot of power from this. The car runs perfect, however I did some roll races tonight and ran dead even with a 270 awd hp WRX and a bolt on (intake headers exhaust) 350z. So I'm missing some power somewhere. I don't have a tune yet though, so that could be it. I'm thinking its the intake though.

I just got done poking around the forums, and I am thinking maybe I adjusted my roller rockers too tight. From what I've read the car can run perfectly fine with the rockers too tight, it will just be lacking vaccum and power. Starting in first gear from idle the car tries to die sometimes, but I thought that was because of my new cam and no tune. When I adjusted the rockers I did approx. 3/4 a turn, but I think I did a sloppy job. Anyway, any ideas? I really don't like running dead even with 350z's and WRX's

3/4 turn past 0 lash? If you want dead lifters that's great. You should only be about 1/4 turn past 0 lash.

You say you don't have a tune? With those mods, you're definitely missing out on some power from that alone.

Are you talking about the elbow that runs from the throttle body to the MAF sensor? If so, you probably aren't losing anything from that. I would recheck your valve lash and get the car tuned. Those two things alone should get your car running up to par again.

He is talking about the hard plastic elbow that goes from the MAF around the radiator shroud down to the stock air box. He is definitely losing some there.

Wow, do you really think I killed my lifters? I've been running 3/4 past 0 lash for about 1500 miles now. I used shbox's guide (http://shbox.com/1/4th_gen_tech2.html#adjust_valves) and I also read over the paperwork for my roller rockers and both said 3/4 would be fine. I didn't have any unusal noise and the car ran perfectly fine so I didn't think anything was wrong. If I have to pull off my intake mani again I'm gonna slit my throat lol.

The elbow I am talking about is the plastic piece that curves around the radiator and has the evap hose connected to it. Not the elbow between the maf and the throttle body (I have the 1LE one). Anyway, I'm gonna try and find a used K&N or Moroso and use the elbow from one of those.
