Full floating piston pin retainer installation: how do you get them in?

The pins go in easy of course, but the lock ring type retainers to hold them don't go in easy, or any other way that I can see. How do you get them in? They're like these http://store.summitracing.com/egnsea...115+4294808882. But summit doesn't have any tool for installation that I can find.

They are very stiff and difficult to install. I used needle nose pliers and a flat tip screw driver. The trick is to insert one end of the clip and work the rest of the clip in a circular manner. Easier said then done. Just give it a try and try not to gouge the hole or the piston surface incase you "slip up".

No special tools needed.

Apparently you get them in...with great difficulty.

there not that bad once you get a couple of them in, my pistons are doubled up 4 sprial locks on each piston, you can stretch them some, I just used a straight pick to work them in a circle.

Got 'em. Thanks for the replies. A little over two hours. I stretched them then used fingers and a little flat blade screwdriver. Getting the old ones out was almost as much trouble. Getting the old ones out might actually be more trouble if you were re-using the pistons and were trying not to scratch them.
