Fule rail removal - urgent
Fule rail removal - urgent
Trying to get this wrapped up today-
I've got the 4 retainer bolts out of the rail, the throttle/cruise linkage out of the way and the connectors unattached. The rail wiggles and the injectors wiggle with it, but it won't lift up. I can't find anything left attached except fuel line and it has plenty of play.
Car has 101k miles, '95 Z28 - should it be this hard? Are the injectors stuck to their seats on the manifold?? They'll lift with a small amount of pressure from a flathead and they'll twist easy, but the rail won't lift.
I don't wanna pull the injectors out and leave the seals stuck to the manifold

Re: Fule rail removal - urgent
The o-rings are probably stuck to the manifold. Take a can of carb cleaner and liberally spray it around all the injectors where they go into the manifold. Then wiggle/pull the fuel rail and injectors off. When you go back together use new o-rings if the old ones are torn up and put a little grease on them to lubricate them.

It'll pull off, the o rings on the injectors are just stuck, just keep working it, i pried mine off with a screw driver, when u put it back together smear a little oil on the o rings and they'll pop right in.
