fuel/spark/issues?

Ok yesterday i replaced gas tank and plug wires. I went through an auto car wash saturday and the car began skipping. Yesterday when i replaced the fuel filter it was so dirty that you could hardly blow through it. Immediately after we removed the tank anfound the fuel sock was plugged up badly.this is a brand new fuel pump also. After replacing a busted tranny mount we reassembled the car. While the car was cold for the first two minutes it ran perfect. After that it started skipping again. Today we pulled the fuel rails and original stock injectors, they were filthy. We reinstalled the lucas 42# injectors. Car was so rich that it didn't even wanna run. It bellowed black smoke out of the exhaust. Since the opti is unvented do u think water entered the weep holes? Im waiting too receive my new bin file from Solomon so i can try the new tune and see if this clears up. I also noticed before i swapped the tank that when i took a right hand corner the car wanted too quit likebit was starving for fuel. I think if its an opti problem ill splurge for the msd bullet opti that's vented for my car. Any advice?

Re: fuel/spark/issues?

Guess i really wont need input after tomorrow cuz i just ordered a msd pro billet with the vent conversion. Also am getting my lt4 knock module and my base tune by solomon. Everything else aside from the ecu is brand new. There should be no issues after tomorrow. What should i use too ensure my opti seals correctly and wont crap out in the near future?

Re: fuel/spark/issues?

Water doesn't have to enter the Opti to cause misfires. Just getting the body of the Opti and the wires wet can cause arcing. Check the Opti plug and coil wire terminals for corrosion. Check the harness connector for corrosion.

Re: fuel/spark/issues?

Come too think of it the icm may be the problem. The one that was put on it was a newer model icm. They were virtually identical but had a major price difference. The 93 icm is 119.00 the 95 icm was around 50.00

Re: fuel/spark/issues?

I installed the same distributor. You will want to be sure to make sure everything is tight and done right. Hear these have problems with parts falling off also and need lock tight.
