Are fuel pumps interchangeable betw V6 and LT1's?

they are different part numbers, so, not sure, you would think yes, but............

I upgraded my 97 to twin 255 lph pumps. Gave my stock LT1 pump to a friend that neede a pump...97 3800 v6. They were the same. And he also cut thru the pan like I did to change it.
