Hey guys my camaro keeps stalling after about 15 to 20 minutes pretty much after running temperature,it gives me no warning just turns off from 900 idle to 0,i checked fuel pressure on cold engine I'm getting 35 psi, pulled regulator vacuum line off the psi goes up,ran the camaro with gauge on windshield n psi isn't going past 35,after camaro stalls psi goes to 0,i changed the pump 4 years ago but it was a used one

Re: fuel pump

if psi never gets above 35 I would suspect your pump.

Re: fuel pump

I was just about to say it might be worth checking the fuel filter if you haven't.

Re: fuel pump

Hey guys ok I bought a fuel pressure test gauge tool from oreailys but as I was doing the prime test I was getting 44. I started it up psi went to 36 to 37,put it to the windshield took it to 4500 to 5000 rpm and it psi was going to 42 to 45.

before I was using gauge from auto zone that I rented n it gave me the results on the first post, the fuel filter was changed last year. So if my fuel pressure is at those readings is my fuel filter ok?

Re: fuel pump

Hey Rob yea it does thank you,the camaro stalled again I had the gauge on windshield n the pressure was at 37 to 38, then I tried to restart it n just kept cranking no fire up,then waited for like 5 minutes n it restarted.

I looked at my distributor looks pretty greasy n oily that's probably the culprit, water pump underneath it has oil too. May I get the name of the seal that goes over the water pump driveshaft, the one that looks like a bearing I think I think that's the one that's leaking

thank you guys alot

ICM behaves like that when going bad.

turns out it's the distributor I found oil in the rotor part,i fixed the middle seal in timing cover, the water pump seal is great didn't show any leaking, the middle one did. So again in my issues I've had it's always the distributor,I've got a Delphi one now. I'll see if that one is good,I've had the other one in there for 4 years
