Fuel pressure out of the schrader valve??

My car drove to the end of the neighborhood this morning and then just died. No sputter or anything, just died. No check engine light and no restart.

I got under the hood and with the key on I pushed in on the schrader valve and absolutely nothing came out. Is this the fuel pump?

Thanks,
Kyle

Very well could be. The best thing would be to verify with a test gauge. A clogged fuel filter might be a suspect, also.

I'll see if I can get a gauge, but right now I'd like to just get it off the main street!

I've always had the "check valve in the fuel pump" problem, it's never started on the first try unless it was hot. The car has 163k miles on it and I've been waiting for this to happen, but I'll check the fuel filter too just to make sure.

Thanks,
Kyle

do you hear the pump with ign on, for prime? if not. Fuel pump or fuel pump fuse. I'll have to look up which one the pump uses though.
