Fuel line Question

Fuel line Question

I have a 95 a4 lt1 z
My question is this: My fuel line has been broken and repaired. I do not like the way this looks, nor do i totally trust it. Is there some way I can put a set of braided steel lines in place of the factory ugly lines?
If so, would someone care to ellaborate on this for me?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Yes i know it can be done, but i can not elaborate fully on what you need to do it. I'm not sure if you can do it with the vent lines as well, but i imagine so. It would just be a matter of getting the lines, running them and using the proper conectors.

I've done it, but it takes a ton of work... you need to start at the fuel pump mounting assembly and work your way forward. You will need a billet fuel filter housing, with -AN fittings. When you get to the fuel rails, you need to weld or tap a -6AN fitting into the back end of each fuel rail, then use a "stand-alone" aftermarket fuel pressure regulator, since you can no longer mount the stocker on the outlet of the drivers side rail. The only "stock" line I still use is the EEC canister purge line.

While I had the rails out, I also modified them to feed 1/2 the fuel into the back of each rail, connected the return line to the diagonal crossover line in the front, and added a bung on the passenger side rail for a fuel pressure sensor. That will allow the stock rails to support in excess of 1,000HP, with extremely stable fuel pressure.

The end results are worth it, but it isn't cheap.

You can mount the braided fuel lines to anything you want YES it's a lot of work NO you don't need to modifiy your fuel rails I'll send you pictures of how to connect 8an fitings to the input line with compression fittings and a 6an line to the return line with compression fitings.

I'll only send you pictures if your serious and want to do this. You will have to remove your rear end, exhaust and tank to do so.

email jamianddave@juno.com and I'll send you the info and pics from mine. I'm using an aeromotive 500#per hour pump and full braided lines.
