fuel leaking down into inejoctors?

it appears i have an unburnt fuel problem where if my car sits for a few days it will start up pretty rough and i let it run for 10 secs or so and shut it down and restart it and its fine.... it was in storage for a few months and im wondering if i have a leaking fuel injector that is essentially "flooding" the car out so when it either stalls or bogs after i start it, that its got unburnt fuel sitting in the system soemwhere... i changed the fuel filter and this helped a little but it still seems to be donig it... how do you clean the fuel injectors? could i have one leaking/sticking? by cleaning i dont mean running fuel injector cleaner through it, ive done that twice

Do you get a lot of smoke at startup, too, that first start? If so, I think it could be a leaking injector. I have a similar problem with my car. I have brand new Delphi/Lucas injectors, so they shouldn't be fouled with fuel sludge, but maybe debris. I plan to pull them out of the manifold and watch for leaks with the fuel pump on, to make sure that is the problem. If so, I will remove the bad one, apply power (5V or 12V, dont know yet), and try to reverse flush it with carb cleaner and compressed air to wash out whatever piece of debris must have gotten in there. You might try this, too.

Maybe somebody who has experience with a leaking injector can chime in explain a better way?

not sure on the smoke, possibly.. i did notice a haze the other day but the car was in the garage (door was open) and the rear hatch was open and i saw the haze there..

the car will start up fine if it sits for <20 mins or more than a few days but if its like 8-24 hrs it will do it, and its like its flooded or something runs really rough, but if i kill the engine and restart it it will start up just fine... also sometimes it will just stall...

i had a new fuel filter installed and that didnt help much... i should also mention i failed the emissions test a few weeks ago with 2x the normal HC and 2.7 on the NOx (2.5 allowed) and my a/f curve was all over....

since the car sat for a few months im wondering if i have a leaking injector now, and if i do, is there a good in the gas tank injector cleaner that will fix it, or do i need the $89.95 fuel system clean at the local repair shop?
