Fuel injectors pushing out.

So I'm running holley fuel rails and 83lb injectors into a holley intake manifold. I was running the motor up to operating temp and the fuel injector closest to the feed line pushed down into the fuel injector boss and fuel started leaking from the top of the injector. Fuel pressure is set to about 43psi and the injectors are new with new o rings installed. Anyone know why this is happening? The bosses on the intake manifold are kind of tapered, but the fuel rail bolts down so tight I wouldn't think that would be an issue.

Sounds like the injectors are too short. Can the retainer clips be installed?

This is what it looks like.

The injectors don't have clips that clamp them in. Its held in by the two bolts through the fuel rail. At first I thought the injectors were too long, so I had the four mounting holes for the fuel rails (two on each side) welded up and re-tapped. We had to clamp the fuel rail down to get the bolts to start even after this. But now I can install the bolts while just pushing down on the fuel rail. I don't know what happened, but I don't think the injectors and being held down tight enough now.

Might want to pull that rail and make sure the injector o ring didn't get twisted or something.

Re: Fuel injectors pushing out.

I pulled the rail off, welded up the two holes that hold the fuel rail down and re tapped them so it holds the injectors in tighter. I had to get a 4x4 in there and pry down on the fuel rail to get the bolts started. I think the problem was that the o rings were kind of sitting on top of the fuel injector boss bevel instead of down into the bosses. Hopefully this solves the problem. I taped everything up so metal shavings didn't get into unwanted places and had a fire extinguisher handle, just in case.
