Fuel or Ignition?

Loss of power, bad studder under load at low RPM's, Doesn't quite run right... Need any and all possibilities, I have looked and looked and looked for burnt wires could not find any. I'm throwing a Code but have no way to check it, cause the last guy that tried said whomever reprogrammed my computer turned the PCM link off. Any ideas would be helpful

Re: Fuel or Ignition?

The link being turned off is BS. There could be a wiring problem to your DLC. Find a local shop that uses Snap-on scanners of any type.

As far as looking at the wires, that is only half the problem. Wires, like plugs can have an internal problem. But unlike plugs, wires can be checked with an ohm meter. Put a lead on each end and while connected, flex and bend the crap out of the wires.

Consider things like a cotton filter over oiled and contaminated the MAF. Put your screen back in, it isn't helping anything. Also consider certain tune up items that have many miles on them. We also don't know what is removed like the EGR.

You could also eliminate the fuel system by checking pressure and pulses at the injectors.

Re: Fuel or Ignition?

Okay I hooked my MSD box back up tonight and noticed something interesting that I hadn't before, a nice blue arc under every Plug wire boot, and a very nice arc on either side of my ignition coil, I was always told any pretty lights under the hood that you didn't put there, isn't good. Is this true?

Sparks from ignition parts is not a good thing. Time to replace at least the wires and plugs.
