Fuel Filter Brand

I just got an estimate to replace the fuel filter for $44. I know I could probably do this myself, but I'd rather pay someone else to do this. Does the brand of fuel filter matter? The $44 quote was for the "OEM" filter.

Fuel Filters cost about $10-$15. Not hard to change at all...sounds like you may be on the verge of getting ripped off my friend.

That price is about right for paying to have one installed. Most places charge a half hour labor plus parts so $44 is in the ballpark.

I agree, it is very easy to charge fuel filter. Save some money and do it yourself. go to shoebox's website to find out how: http://shbox.com/1/4th_gen_tech1.html

I don't think the brand really matters, I just used whatever they had at Autozone.

Yes, do it yourself. It's easy.

Don't forget to relieve the fuel pressure.

Cool

If you have your oil changed at one of those quick lube places, have them throw it on (about $10.00)after you have bought one ready for them to install.Hope this helps.(the car is on the lift already so,let-em do it))
