Front Timing Cover Leak

My Z is leaking a drop at a time out of my FTC!!!! I see it's the front Oil pan seal and I wanted to know the easiest way to fix it!!! Oil pan or timing cover!! I installed it exactly how it said in the service manual when I rebuilt it, but I guess I obviously did somthing Wrong

You need to be certain where the leak is and not maybe from a seal above. The oil pan goes on after the timing cover and it is possible to drop the front of the pan to fix a leak at the front where they mate.

I put the car on the lift Cleaned off the whole Front and Started it, It's coming out of the rubber seal taht is on the Oil Pan front. I put this on while the engine was still on the stand, I put RTV in the corners, Do I need it all the way through??

I would think, by the rubbery compound the oil pan gasket is made of, you would not need any sealer. However, if it leaks then I guess you need some.

I used RTV on the front of mine when I did my cam swap (because it had started seeping a little before the swap and I did not want to have to go back and seal it again). I used brake cleaner to get all the surfaces free of grease and smeared sealer on each side of the front. No leaks so far.

so I can just take off the front timing cover? I'd really hate to loosen up the oil pan, or is it easier?

If you don't loosen the pan, you will probably rip the oil pan seal and then have to replace the whole thing. Don't make a bad situation worse.

Yea I ripped my oil pan gasket while pulling the timing cover off. I put RTV all over it and reassembled it as best I could. It's gonna be a miracle if it seals. If it leaks though, I'm paying someone to fix it. If I have to work on this car one more day I'm gonna have a mental breakdown!!!!
