Front License Plate install

I was pulled over yesterday and got a ticket for having no front license plate. Now how in the world am I gonna put this license plate on because I see there's two holes on each side of the chevrolet logo..and it doesn't fit their. So would I actually have to drill holes in the car. If anyone have any ideas, if it's doable by myself I'll do it today and get the ticket signed off.

You need the plate mount, it bolts the the bumper cover and the plate to it. I have my plate on the air dam, under the nose of the car, so far no ticky.

Could I just buy that at Kragen's or something? You're talking about the black plastic mount right and then the silver piece goes in right after the license plate goes in, correct?

Those two holes are there for the factory supplied license plate holder. My suggestion would be to purchase the real GM license plate holder. I live in FL and didn't need mine so I gave mine away to another board member for shipping costs only. I sent it out and never heard from him again so he got it real cheap. Sigh.

Anyway, I'd get the real deal rather than put some type of hack on there.

mine didn't even have holes to mount it, and I got a ticket so we jacked one off of a 3rd gen at pick n pull and modified it a bit to fit. it actually looks good but it sucks not being able to see the bowtie

Hey Brent, what else do you have laying around that you would get rid of for just the cost of shipping?

I would try the "air dam mount" like DTS suggested. IMO, it would be better than sticking a plate in front (which I assume you did not want there, anyway). If that does not pass, you can always go to the factory plate mount. I am sure you could find one in the parts wanted section. Apparently, your car had the plate mount on it at one time because you said there were holes there.

When the plate mount is put on, the mounting screws merely "drill" into the bumper fascia (how barbaric ). There are no pre drilled holes.
