Front Clip?

This winter i want to do cam/head swap and i was told the easiest way to do it is drop the engine out the bottom of the car. Yesterday i was at a friends house and they told me it would be much easier to remove the front clip. Im not sure how i would go about this or what would have to be done? what do u think?

Re: Front Clip?

I don't think removing the front clip will make it any easier to remove the engine.

You still wouldn't have to pull the front clip. I'm currently in the middle of a cam swap and i still the the front clip on the car. To get the heads off with the motor still in the car would be more difficult but i don't see why its not possible

Check shoebox's web page you don't have to go through all that.

Re: Front Clip?

You would be suprised how much room there is when the radiator hoses, radiator and ac condensor is out of the vehicle.

Re: Front Clip?

when i did my cam swap, i just pulled the radiator and condensor and all hoses out of the way. there is definitely plenty of room for the cam swap in the car. i drove my car to my dads garage let it cool and had the cam out in less than 2 hours. (my dad has done this many times which helps.) the heads could be trick but are managable.
