Freshly back from the track

Woohoo!

Not as good as it seems, but when ya look at it in a different way it is Good ole street tires! Car weighed in at 3750. full street trim and more!

Also I was finishing at the top of 3rd gear

Made 9 runs tonight:

Best ET: 14.117
Best MPH: 104.21
Best 60': 2.29 however most were around 2.5

Up here at bandimere at 5800 ft in the heat. Best ET it was 82 degrees with baro. of 23.38

Best MPH at 76 degrees and 23.41 on the barometer

With some drivetrain upgrades and tires and a little better pcm program and weight reduction, should be able to drop the 60' by at least a half a second, which should be pretty close to 1.0 - 1.5 in the 1/4.

Mid 12s at bandi? Hell yes. Considering that the correction factor is most always over a second different, ya ill be happy

Setup:

383
Ported Heads
230/236/112
M6
245/50/16 Street tires

Your MPH suggests you are making the power, just gotta get it to the track. I ran about the same mph as you only with a 13.2x et

im not too concerned with the ET right now as all ET really is, is traction and weight. Which the car is bad at both. Its heavy as hell, and has no traction, since i dont feel like throwing out 2500 on a 12bolt when the 10bolt breaks

MPH is damn good IMO up here. Most cars running a 105mph or so were mid 12s, those are the cars with big *** slicks that weigh a few hundred less than I do.

Just to put everything in perspective....

For 82degF, 23.28 barometer (ET) and 76degF, 23.41 barometer (MPH), the ET/MPH converts to:

13.15 @ 111.1

That would indicate roughly 410flywheel at sea level. It would also indicate that with some traction and decent 60' times, the car would run low 12's at sea level.

I'd be satisified.

Fred, Im pretty sure it'll go 12.60s or 70s up here with a 1.8 or 1.7 60'. Which would be a mid-low 11 at sealevel. Everyone tells me .1 on the 60' = .2 on the 1/4 mile

It needs some pcm work still, and some weight reduction. I have a 25lb cooler in the car, stereo, jack/tire, bunch a other **** as well.

Talkin to a buddy whos a pilot and he said DA for those conditions is 8900 ft. Correction factor that nhra uses without factoring heat or anything in, just strictly elevation, is over a second difference. http://www.nhra.com/2002/sportsman/n...ry/021501.html 14.1 goes down to a 13.07 based strictly on standard conditions at 5800 ft.

Hopefully I can get some drag radials and go back and see what it can muster with good traction, less weight, and more power

I wasn't using the NHRA corrections... you provided the barometer, and that's all you need to insert into the online ET/MPH correction calculators. Standard barometer at 5,000' is 24.89"Hg. At 6,000 its 23.98"Hg, so you were closer to 7,000' on barometer alone, and added a little more with the temperature.

How much you gain on 60' times is an ongoing discussion... I usually figure 1.5X.

Weight is a problem... I was running at 3,760# last year, and that was without A/C, back seat, etc. Hopefully I got it down about 200# this year. Best pass on motor lat year (and it only makes 486flywheel) was 11.5@115, and I know I got off it before the end of the track because I was so pi$$ed that the nitrous didn't fire. Odd thing was, it ran a better time on the nitrous tune than it normally would on the N/A tune .
