it might if you find an elbow that wil langle it down. Home depot will have them man you just need a good 45 degree angle or so...and yes flat cone.

The TB is the 4" opening, the MAF is 3.5". Why do you want to stick this under your stock hood? You will get better air flow from a standard CAI kit.

So my filter will have to go between the engine and the radiator?? Wont that make ALOT of heat. My idea isnt really to get cold air, but that would be HOT air I would think. I dont know, I will probably still check this out. Keep giving me ideas though.

I am just messing around really. I just thought this might be a different idea. Would it be better to use a normal cai in this case??

Yeah, on a ram air car, there's a few inches between the core support and the hood where a complete box sits. The air comes through the ram air into the filter, without the ram air you won't get much cool air into the filter so a CAI would be a better idea in this particular case. The LS1 cars use a different core support so there's extra room between the hood and core as well, plus they draw air from the front of the radiator.

Depends on how slick you want to be. I made a CAI for a friend's car out of 3.5" mandrel U bends, a trick flow elbow, and a freakin huge K&N filter. He's taking the pipe to be ceramic or powder coated pretty soon, I can't wait to see how it looks then.

I like SLP's version a lil more.

This is the hood:

and this is the poo to make it functional:

if i were ever to bother gettin a new hood, that would be it!

I have been toying with this idea for a while. I wanted the most "ram-air" style intake and hood possible. Well first of all, it just doesnt matter. "Force" as much air as you want in, but honestly you need the other work to support it, bolt ons that is.

www.vfnfiberglass.com

these are without a doubt the most badass looking hoods for our cars, and they are actually the cheapest too. you will have plenty of room to stuff a filter (or even 2 - which was my original idea) int othe radiator support.

4" cowl + Ram air, cant go wrong with that..
