Formula to run mid-12s?
Formula to run mid-12s?
Alright, I'm setting a goal for my car. I want to run mid-12s on street tires, and maybe low-12/high-11 on the bottle.
What would it take to run mid-12s on street tires without a large stall? I want to keep the streetability of the car, so no large, loppy, non-vacuum cam
. Right now, all I have is a Moroso CAI, 1LE elbow, Borla cat-back, Prothane tranny mount, Spohn LCA.
I know I'm going to have to get a cam, LT's, rr's, better gears, mail tune, and better tires [the stock Eagle RS-A's aren't going to cut it
].
I know that the LE1 package would easily get me there, but what else would I need to buy in order to use the LE1 package?
Now, the LT4 conversion kit. I know this thing has been beaten to death more then a million times before. I know the LE1 would blow it away, but I just have one question about the conversion. Would it be enough to run mid-12s?

Re: Formula to run mid-12s?
My friend is running 12.3's with just a full bolt on car. He is on DR's and skinnys though. Has a decent size stall as well. Its gonna be hard to do on street tires without a lot more power.
Re: Formula to run mid-12s?
If you do the Le1 setup, all the boltons described by you, some suspension pieces and drag radials you should be able to pull it off.
suspension pieces include but not limited to sub frame connectors, tourque arm, relocation bracket and pan hard rods they make packages that include all these items at different retailers tybrene, thunderracing, and some others, look around, all the info you need to run 12s is posted on here a million times
and for your question on the lt4 conversion, id assume you would be able to turn 12's and youd have a fresh set of heads (which to me seems to be the only reason to choose the lt4 over a le setup). But as you said early the le setups are recomened for how cheap they are and how effective they are. LLoyd is a good guy dealt with him for my le1 cam and le2 heads, but the cars down rgiht now due to a bent rod, and now im replacing the bottom end with a forged 383 so im hoping to turn 12's as well
just my two cents take what you want from it
