foil tape on spark plug wires
foil tape on spark plug wires
I am trying to eliminate a stumble that arose after my header install. Could wrapping aluminum foil tape around heat sheething on the spark plug wires possibly disrupt the spark? I took great care in shielding them all to avoid this very problem, and they are all routed off of the primarys so there is no burnt wires.
thanks in advance

I put muffler bandage(a little thicker than aluminum foil, and yes I know it's ghetto) around one of my plug boots. I haven't had any problems, and it has actually kept it from getting burned too.

thanks for the response.
Obviously when i did it i didn't think it could cause a problem, but now i'm wondering since i can't get rid of this stumble.
Heres the exact procedure i used. Layer of spectre heat shielding, secured with foil strips. 2nd layer of spectre heat shielding again secured with strips, then completely wrapped in 1 layer of foil tape.
I blocked off the egr, i'm going to go reconnect that to see if it helps the stumble.
I may rewire the O2 sensor on the drivers side that i had to extend.
Anyone have any other ideas or opinions?
