Flycut the valves?
Flycut the valves?
An engine builder told me that he would recommend a 3 angle valve job and a fly cut valve job to make my buddies heads (stock) flow a little better. What will that do in terms of power?
Same answer as this question.: http://web.camaross.com/forums/showthread.php?t=522202
To me many of these things only make sense IF you are racing in a class that requires you to run "stock" parts. Or until you've gotten to a point where there isn't anything else left.
In other words you'd be better off spending the money on aftermarket heads then doing this on stock heads. Once you have the best aftermarket heads and intake, and still need a few more hp to be competitive, then it begins to be cost effective to do all these little details.
Although 3 angle valve jobs are not uncommon or much more expensive.

These heads have a 3 angle valve job and factory back-cut valves from the factory - if your machinist does not at least match the performance work that was there to begin with you need to take you motor somewhere else. A 3-angle VJ was "performance 20 years ago, now multi-angle and radius valve jobs are the norm.
We don't do anything less than 3-angles when cutting seats.
