flowmaster sounds bad

i just had a flowmaster muffler put on my car and i am not very happy with the sound, when you rev it up it has that poppin and crackin sound when you let off, i wish i would've waited and got the edelbrock rpm muffler which has a deeper sound, oh well nothing i can do about it now, do most of you guys have the flowmaster, do you guys think it sounds good?

I had a flowmaster on my car and it sounded like crap. so I took it off after about 2000 miles and bought a hooker and love it.

I personally love the sound of my 80 series Flowmaster. If you are revving it up at a stand still it does pop sometimes, but when you are driving it sounds awesome.

You need to have someone else get behind the wheel and drive it while you listen. Have them gun it from a stand still and you'll be happy with what you hear.

It'll still rip the paint off of any Honda!!

Everyone is so quick to say flowmaster sucks but wheres the proof? Opinion isn't proof......

I can hang with LS1 cars pretty easily and the flow is my only mod so I am happy with my crap.......

I never had any complaints about my Flowmaster American Thunder Cat back. I loved it and got tons of compliments on the sound. I had a cut out welded on some time ago and have run it open ever since.

Flowmaster is going to pop and crackle some when you rev it up high in Neutral(especially when the car is cold). Other systems do this too.

It wouldn't be my first choice, but I've never heard one that sounded bad in person. I personally think it sounds good on an LT1 F-body. The loud rumble it has at idle is awesome.

Like the other guy said, have someone else drive your car up and down the street so that you can hear what it really sounds like outside the car...

Sorry to hear that you don't like the flowmaster. I have always loved the sound of them personally and this is the first time I have ever heard people voice a bad opinion on flowmaster. Oh well teach your own but I think they sound great and you can't beat the price of them.

i got an 80 series flow with no cat and 3'' all the way back. i think that it sounds good for the price, i like the loud rumble at idle and at higher RPM's i got some .1 to .15 seconds off my 1/4 mile time. so i think that this is one of the better perf. upgrades for a stock car.

The first thing I did to my car before I knew anything about camaros was put on a flowmaster 40 series. It was a good muffler and served the purpose. It popped when revved high rpms in nuetral, but most exhausts do. I got my cutout some months back and i always ride with it open, i love it. If i got a muffler again, I would have gone with the borla cat back or the SLP loudmouth setup.
