Flowmaster Catback?
I would recomend it for the sound quality, but as far as flowing the best, I would have to go with SLP loudmouth. I had it before but i was just a little too loud when you drive 500 miles every 3 weeks. But i love the flowmaster sound. A little clue as to how it flows would be the fact that i picked up 2 1/2 tenths with my cutout open. I have herd some people say that they havent gained anything with a cutout. So i am sure that others flow a little better. But i can assure you it is better than stock. I have herd that Hooker is a great sounding/flowing setup. anybody with hooker tell us how you like it?
Sean, yeah we've both got the same set-ups. I like what you've done by putting on 3" tips, that are 22" long!
Good idea! Bill...
Cman, If you decide that you'd rather have the 2 1/2" dual outlets instead of the single 3", plus you'd like to save some money, let me know as I'm like 99 percent sure that I'm sending away for headers this week and I'll go to true duals as its cheaper than a 'Y' pipe.... Bill...

Yes, I might be intersted in your flowmaster. As long as the price is good. Please let me know, I might have found a 80 series with stock pipes and cut out on the FS board here at camaroz28.com. But let me know, I'd rather have the catback from Flowmaster. Is yours for a single cat Lt1?
Thanks
Chad

I would not buy the Blowmaster unless you're interested in buying one of the least flowing mufflers available. For $250, you can buy a full stainless steel catback from Magnaflow that will way outperform the Flowmaster. And the Magnaflow won't rust 3 years later...
Can I get a Magnaflow for $260 though? I see them on Ebay for $250 plus shipping. So it would be like $290 total, if I remeber right. Is magna flow that much better? Yes I agree, Stainless Steel is better, but my car is always stored during winter and not out much in the rain.
Thanks

I believe my brother paid $280 including shipping. Save up the extra $20!!! Way better flow, with stainless steel being a big bonus.
By the way, I used to run Flowmaster. Car is stored every winter, but after three years it rusted through at one of the seams. I will NEVER buy a non-stainless system again. That is pretty much the only reason I don't own the 4" Mufflex.

I will agree with them, I wouldnt spend that much on flowmaster. Dont get me wrong i like my sound but i have the best flowing exhaust peice on my catback in the cutout. so if i want to make the winning difference ill open it and just get all out flow. I would go with magnaflow. There is something wrong when i gain almos 3 tenths with the cutout open, that means i was not flowing well before.
I think flowmasters sound really mean, but like alot of people say I hear they flow like crap. I have an edlbrock exhaust on my car and I think it sounds awesome. It had it when I bought the car and it had a gutted cat with stock exahust manifolds and sounded real good. I know have mac midlengths y-pipe and offroad pipe out my exhaust and I love how it sounds now. Pretty loud but not over the top and not raspy at all. I love the sound. I dont know how much they cost but I belive the guy I bought it from said like 240 for the whole catback which isnt bad at all. Maybe you want to look into this. Just a suggestion. Good luck.
P.S. I have a cutout waiting to go in my offroad pipe which is sititng in my closet. I def. would reccomend getting one if your gunna run at the track at all. If you gunna do a catback get a cutout done at the same time. Its well worth it from what I hear. Im gunna run mine open on the street sometimes because you couldnt make a exhaust that was too loud for me.

Do you know a good website I can see the edlbrock exhaust at? Is it the dual outlet? About the cut out, I don't think I'll get one for one reason, and one reason only. I don't live near a track, not even close. The nearest one is like 2 hrs away. And I doubt i will ever go and drag race with this car anyways. Maybe my next Fbody, but not this one, too much hard work into the swap. And I'm broke, so I don't really want to break anything. Know what I mean?
