flow # question
Head Question
here r the flow numbers for the heads i want...
.300 194/143
.400 237/169
.500 263/181
.600 258/191
why would the intake flow numbers decrease from .500 lift to .600?

Re: flow # question
Because the port job is bad, usually there is a portion of the port that has too much velocity and it's running into sonic choke.
Most likely this is because of turbulent flow and even if you don't open the valve to where the flow drops off it will still hurt power. Doesn't make sense to most people that is what happens, but it does. The reason is that the flow in a port is not just constantly flowing at 28", it's higher and lower than that and travels in waves so if the port has a bad flow trait like losing cfm the more you open the valve you have some big problems on your hands there.
