Flow Question
Flow Question
ok........I will be buying a corsa cat-back exhaust, but i dont like the tips (if i do this the tips have already been spoken for sorry)...........i want to cut the tips off and weld on some polished slp dual-dual tips. well my question is ----
Since the full corsa cat-back is 3 inches and the dual dual tips from slp are only 2.5 inches, am i going to lose horsepower when i weld the slp ones on???
If so, how much?? is it so much that i am basically ruining my $700 exhaust system???
thanks
Scott
P.S. -- does anyone make a true-dual setup for camaros now??? (that is 3 inches all the way back that is).......if so can you tell me where to find it?? and will it be better to buy that than the corsa setup??
thanks

Definitely no loss. A good friend of mine was running low 9's (yes, low 9's) with a Vortech S/C'd 383 in a 3,900# 30th SS convertible.... and his exhaust included a 4" Mufflex catback, with his original "2-on-the-left" tip welded onto the single 4" Mufflex/Flowmaster outlet. He eventually pulled the entire catback off, and found no HP gains on the dyno, running collector mufflers and turndowns. The only gains he saw at the track were from the 50# weight reduction of eliminating the Muflex (9.04@155mph).
I think you will be fine with your plans.
