Flickering SES

I have a weird SES that I've never seen any posts on. At idle and under non load (i.e. coasting) situations, there is no light. As the rpms and load increase, so does the brightness and the flickering until it gets to solid illumination. I've scanned it and could extract no code. Anyone experience this, and what is the solution?

The only thing I've done to it recently is replaced the coil and ICM.
Thanks,
Rich

Usually flashing SES lights are misfires being detected. Your car is a 97 model it has misfire detection and I am not sure why it is not leaving any codes set. Use your scan tool and check history of misfires. I am going to guess that it has hesitation and stumbles at times?? If that is the case I would for sure check for misfires maybe check your plugs for carbon tracking and such.

Yeah, the ses seems to coincide with a particular cylinder firing. I'll have to scan and see if I can detect which one is misfiring. It doesn't seem to be running badly though.
Thanks
