Flat ground 3/8" rocker arm studs

I have some 3/8 1.6 Erson SA roller rockers.

The instructions mention that the polylock needs a flat ground surface on the rocker stud tip to properly lock.

I have not pulled the valve covers yet.

I was wondering if anyone knew if the stock 3/8 Lt1 rocker studs had flat ground ends?

I know that ARP studs advertise that they have flat ground ends, but I was hoping to get by with the stock 3/8 stud.

I have seen some people post that have major problems with getting the poly locks set and other people have no problem. Could the flat ends make that much difference?

Any body have suggestions?

Thanks

The stock studs are definitely not ground flat on the tips like the aftermarket studs are. I'm sure a lot of people use them with polylocks without a problem. You could use the stockers and check the poly locks every so often, but a new set of 3/8" ARP studs is pretty cheap...

I finally found some pictures of the studs and they are not flat, just like you mentioned. I just want to have everything on hand when I get ready to do this swap. I think I will get the ARP studs, don't want to wonder if the setting will stay locked in.

Thanks
