Talking FIXED!!!!!!!!!!! Well, almost.....

After running like extremely rich poop since August (with a six week break while I deployed), sputtering, missing all over the place, making my eyes tear up, and surviving my first opti swap, which WASN'T THE PROBLEM like I thought, my car is fixed.

I swapped the computer from my purple car into the black one. Turned the key and she roared to life. No smelly, no miss.....tap the gas and I thought she was going to jump right off the jackstands up front. Stomped on it and it just revved up like there's no tomorrow. I'm all smiles and giddy right now!!

I didn't throw a code, and the scanner didn't show anything, but I'm under the assumption that it's the same problem that 12SCNDZ had: Quad Driver Module failure.

Now, I need to find a 93 PCM ASAP. If anyone has a lead or anything, hook me up!!!!

Next up: 1.7 rockers......

To be continued............

Great to hear. You have different cams in the two cars right? Have you taken it off the stands with the other PCM and given it a run? Just wondering how different the two tunes are.

Good luck with your search.

Stereomandan,

You'd be correct. The black car is 224/230, and the purple car is a hotcam. The black car, before the fix, felt WAAAAAY stronger than the hotcam car. I've got a bead on a new PCM on ebay, so if all goes well I should be working on the tune of the car again, possibly dynoing at the end of next week. If the tunes right, I should be about 375-380 RWHP and 365-370 RWTQ. Maybe a little more even. Unfortunately, My Epromer5 chip burner quit making good chips, so I have to resort to mail to get my new ones. I can say that the two tunes between the cars is very different, if that's what you're asking. The heads on the black car are as good as it gets for a set of stock ported heads, while the ones on the purple car are a lot more mild.

PCMForless. He does great work, almost nailed my cars tune the first time.

FYI, I know that Madwolf does really good work for 93's too.

I should have deleted this thread.

When I swapped the computers the car was cold, hence no problem noted.

I got another 93 PCM, and same stuff still happening.

I'm still in the same boat as you chris.

I can't believe this was dug up!!!
