Anyone know if this will work? Much eaiser having a cable instead of a big bulky belkin adapter to fiddle with.

Try it at your own risk. A few people I have talked to have said that those little cables don't work with some laptops and some do. As I said in my last post, you have to ask yourself if its worth the risk of frying your PCM. Some of these cables will cause the program to lockup. During an upload of a program, if the program locks up, You PCM could be severly damaged. Can you afford to go out and get another one? I am not trying to belittle you, just providing you some information that may be helpful.

ok im gonna resurect this because its news to me that you can tune through the USB port.
ive got a dell with xp pro i think. its xp for sure. ive got both a USB port and a serial port. are there any advantages to using one port over the other? im not a comp savyy person really. so i dont know if somehow the usb is more stable or anything like that. i have only a preference to use the better of the two based on price and or performance. so which would be better to use? thanks

this post couldnt have come at a better time,i just bought lt1 edit,brought it down to the shop that was going to tune my car and he couldnt get it to read the pcm so i will have him look into this adapter
